VIS MA VIE ....... of animator!

Our charming Stéphanie, Merchandising Assignment ManagerShe took part in the "Vis Ma Vie" game. She wanted to discover the world of commercial animation.

On Saturday 4 June, Toys'R'Us organised for the first time aera time in France the Children's Festival (an event already celebrated in other countries such as Germany and Poland). The children were able to enjoy many activities in the shop, including a Playmobil football animation.

This event was an excellent opportunity for Stéphanie to carry out a commercial event in a fun and festive setting! She went to the Toys'R'Us in La Garde (83) for an afternoon, doubling up as our animator.

Here is his testimony ...

My arrival in the shop

I was a little apprehensive about my meeting with the floor manager. But as soon as we arrived, the floor manager put us straight into the swing of things and immediately showed us our place. The totem pole was in place as well as the stand. All that remained was the "football pitch" shelf to be installed so that the children could play!

And we can say that they were looking forward to us ....

My animation

We were surrounded by children and parents. It was crazy! Fortunately, there were two of us to channel them. With the facilitator, we divided the work between us =

  • Fetching customers in the Playmobil department and attract them to the stand,
  • Have the field tested playground for children and parents
  • Explaining the lottery
  • Monitor the stock of goodies because everything was in a cart next to us.

The shop had been advertising the event for several days, so parents let the children play and participate in the lottery, all with a big smile.

We didn't stop for a second! We always had children to participate ....

My review

I enjoyed it!

The animation started very quickly. It was complicated to manage customers at the beginning and with the multitude of children, it was very difficult to count the number of participants. It was amazing the world we had around us.

Managing the customers, getting them to participate in the game, picking up consumers at the Playmobil area, handing out goodies, .... With this amount of traffic it was a mammoth task where you had to be able to keep calm and smile.

I was very surprised to see department managers who are very attentive to our needs and this from the moment we arrived with a excellent reception. They came to thank us warmly at the end of the mission. We felt totally integrated.

Used to merchandising, this experience has allowed me to discover another GIS activity and above all I can now talk to merchandisers about sales events !
I know what it's like to manage dozens of customers around you, to keep a constant eye on a stock of goodies, to stay on your feet for more than 4 hours without a break and to go and get the consumers....
Being on the ground to living the life of our facilitators is a real awareness. I now know some of the difficulties a facilitator may encounter in the shop but also the satisfaction with the work done when a department manager comes to say thank you at the end of a job.

That's why this experience has been so rewarding!

I would like to thank the facilitator who accompanied me during these 4 hours.

Her help and advice was invaluable in allowing me to fully step into the role of a facilitator.
